About Us

The site started out as two separate websites. One was The Scape and the other was RuneUnion. RuneUnion has been in existence since September of 2007 and The Scape had been in existence since early 2008. Back in August of 2008 Schmidty102 joined the staff at The Scape and was pouring out content over a period of about a year. He wrote about 14 quest guides, 2 full skill guides, helped on 2 other skill guides, and wrote the content for a few calculators. The owner of the site finally decided it was time to give up on his dreams of creating a fansite in the middle of November of 2009. Schmidty102 was a member of RuneUnion, which was basically dead at the time, and he decided to join the forces of a few members from The Scape and RuneUnion to create RuneSlayer. The official merge took place on the 30th of November in 2009 when the forums were installed. We then contacted one of our members, One, and he drew up the website template in PhotoShop. Anthony, Ben, and Schmidty102 worked on coding the website template and the framework and finally had the basics done and released on December 8, 2009. December 20, we had the main part of the content system built and started moving the website template into the database. Of course whether it is in the database or not, it doesn't affect the end-user one bit. It just makes our job much easier. We are now working extensively on releasing content to the RuneSlayer visitors which is growing greater each and every day.
